414 Request-URI Too Long: Buffer overflow detected
« on: July 19, 2013, 04:47:18 AM »
After I pushed a newer firmware to my TED5000 it stopped posting to my 3rd party server (my own code) and I'm looking for a work around.

To that end I set an inward port forward on my router.  I already use the same type of thing to read my WiFi enabled thermostat so it was an easy matter to set up.

But when I tried to reach my TED5000 via an external link I got this error from the unit "414 Request-URI Too Long: Buffer overflow detected"

http://mylongdomainname:myportnumber/history/minutehistory.xml?MTU=0&COUNT=10

I know that my TED5000 works, because when I use my internal address I get a response.  I can also substitute my IP address and get a response so for now that is a work around, but that is not a long lasting work around because My ISP gives me a dynamic IP.

Solutions would include a change to the code to let long URIs work
-or-
Something that fixes the error in posting (I'm already in touch with support over this item)

Based on this thread, you might want to use a different browser from "outside".
