adding another MTU?
« on: September 15, 2011, 12:22:20 AM »
I have a TED5000 with two MTU's now... one is one the pannel fed from the utillity and the second is on a breaker from my 5.6KW solar inverter. My question, can I add another solar source and have TED keep track of both the outputs of the arrays. The second one will be 2KW from 10 Enphase inverters (I have shade problems!). The place I will be feeding the second solar Enphase system will be in a remote pannel in my garage.... What is the best way to monitor this output, right at the fed to the second pannel, or at the main pannel feed to the remote sub pannel? Thanks!

I would go with a third MTU.
You need a separate circuit breaker for the 2KW system anyway.
Gives you a nice comparison to the big system.
