TED1001 high cpu usage

my 1001 has started causing my computer to slow to a crawl: an then i get a high cpu usage warning: when i check, the cpu usage
will be at 100%, so i unplug the RDU from the computer an the usage drops to 2%: an i can use the computer again??
any suggestions?

I've posted earlier that this is usually an issue with a large database which can be compacted (there is option)  and/or the drive needs to be decremented.  Also make sure you don't have some kind of antivirus program scanning it constantly.. you may want to add it as an exception.

I could decrement my drive, but then I wouldn't have any left. Defragmenting is probably more valuable.
