readin my TED5000 for the first time

We just installed our TED5000, and I downloaded the Footprint software and plugged the TED straight into the ethernet port, but the program is not finding it. Any ideas?

Which ethernet prot?  Computer or router?

If you are plugged into the ethernet adapter on the PC, you will need a crossover cable.  They have them at Radio Shack
